Best AI agent builders in 2026 (comparison for business teams)
A plain-English comparison of Mazaal, Lindy, Gumloop, Zapier Agents, n8n, Relevance AI and Voiceflow for ops, sales and support teams, covering channels, workflows, connectors, models, pricing and setup.
Disclosure: Mazaal AI publishes this guide, and we've tried to be fair. Competitor details come from each vendor's public pricing and product pages, checked in October 2026. Where we couldn't confirm something, we've marked it "unconfirmed" instead of guessing. Prices are in USD unless noted. They change often, so check the vendor's site before you buy.
Who this is for
If you work in operations, sales or support, you've probably been pitched "AI agents" several times this year. The idea is reasonable enough. Software reads an email, looks the person up in your CRM, takes an action and replies, and nobody has to copy and paste between tabs.
Choosing a tool is harder. "AI agent builder" now covers Slack assistants, developer-grade workflow engines and voice bots for contact centres, and they do quite different jobs. We compared seven popular options on the criteria business teams usually ask about, rather than on how good the demo looks.
Short version:
- Mazaal, if you want one agent running across many customer and team channels, with visual workflows and a large connector library, on a flat monthly plan.
- Lindy, if what you mostly want is a personal AI assistant for each person, working in Slack and your inbox.
- Gumloop, if your team wants agents for internal data and research work and IT wants tight controls.
- Zapier Agents, if your business already runs on Zapier.
- n8n, if you have technical people and want self-hosting or deep control.
- Relevance AI, if you're building a multi-agent "AI workforce" for sales or ops processes.
- Voiceflow, if you're a CX team building production chat and voice agents.
How we scored them
We used six criteria.
- Channels. Where can the agent talk to people? Web chat, Slack, email, WhatsApp, SMS, voice, social. Support and sales teams need it wherever their customers already are.
- Agents and workflows. Can you build an open-ended agent that reasons and uses tools, and also a deterministic workflow that does the same thing every time (if X, then Y)? Most real business processes need both.
- Connectors and MCP. How many apps does it connect to out of the box? Does it support the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the emerging standard for plugging tools into AI agents?
- Models and credits. Can you pick OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or another provider for each task? How is AI usage billed, and can you predict the bill?
- Price. What a small team pays to start, and how that scales: per seat, per task or per credit.
- Setup. How quickly someone who isn't a developer can get something useful live.
The ratings in the table are our editorial judgement for a typical ops, sales or support team. We didn't run lab benchmarks, and a developer-heavy team would weigh things differently.

Mazaal AI
Mazaal has an agent builder, a visual workflow editor and connectors in the one workspace. You describe what you want in plain English. Something like: "Watch our support inbox. When someone asks about an invoice, look them up in HubSpot, check Stripe for the charge, and reply with what actually happened. Escalate refunds to me." Mazaal builds the agent and its tools from that.
What you get:
- One agent, many channels. The same agent can run on a web widget, a standalone app, the API, webhooks, Slack, Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, email, SMS and voice, or as a step inside a workflow. You switch channels on as you need them instead of building a separate bot for each.
- Agents and workflows in the same place. The editor is drag-and-drop, with triggers (events, schedules, webhooks), branches and AI steps. You can chain agents, and every run is logged and can be replayed.
- 10,000+ connectors and native MCP, plus custom HTTP, webhooks and scripts. Credentials are encrypted.
- Model choice. 50+ models on paid plans, including GPT-5, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek, with automatic model selection on the free plan. Send cheap tasks to a fast model and harder reasoning to a stronger one. Mazaal takes care of streaming, retries, structured JSON output and credit accounting across providers.
- The admin side: knowledge bases (vector search via Qdrant, with citations), prompt versioning with one-click rollback, per-org credit limits, roles, audit logs and multi-tenant orgs.
Pricing. Every plan includes agents, workflows, model access, AI credits, Automation credits and a knowledge base allowance.
| Plan | Price | AI credits | Automation credits | Knowledge base | Users | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hobbyist | $0 | 10 | 100 | 10 MB | 1 | 1 agent, community support |
| Basic | $19/mo | 1,000 | 2,000 | 100 MB | 1 | Unlimited agents; 50 Advanced Tool actions trial |
| Pro | $49/mo | 2,500 | 5,000 | 500 MB | 3 | Advanced Tools + API access |
| Team | $129/mo | 7,000 | 15,000 | 2 GB | 10 | Chat support |
| Business | $429/mo | 20,000 | 25,000 | 10 GB | 25 | Priority support |
Automation top-ups are $10 per 10,000 credits. Advanced Tool actions cost 25 credits each on Pro and above. How many AI credits a task uses depends on the model (see docs.mazaal.ai/pricing).
Watch-outs: because each model burns AI credits at a different rate, run your real workload on the free plan before you commit. API access starts at Pro, not Basic. Mazaal is also newer and less well known than Zapier or n8n, so its community and template library are smaller.
Lindy
Lindy pitches itself as an AI teammate that works where you already work. It's Slack-native (threads and mentions). It also manages your inbox, drafts replies in your voice, records meetings and takes notes, handles scheduling, sends daily briefs and works over iMessage. Lindy lists 1,500+ integrations, MCP support, model choice per task, computer use, and built-in approvals for anything that affects the outside world.
Pricing: a 7-day free trial with $50 in credits, then $29.99 per active user per month. That gets 3,000 credits per user, pooled across the team. Top-ups are $10 per 1,000 credits. Enterprise adds HIPAA, SSO/SCIM and audit logs.
Watch-outs: you pay per seat, so the bill grows with headcount. Lindy works best as an internal assistant for each person. Its current pricing page doesn't feature customer-facing channels such as a website chat widget or WhatsApp (unconfirmed).
Gumloop
Gumloop calls itself the "multiplayer AI agent builder". The pitch is that anyone in the company can build agents while IT controls access. Agents connect to apps such as Slack, Gmail, Salesforce, HubSpot and Notion, plus 100+ MCP integrations. They run on plain-English triggers, use reusable skills, and produce things like dashboards, docs and web apps. Gumloop is model-agnostic (35+ models, BYOK) and offers SSO, audit logging and VPC deployments.
Pricing: after a 14-day trial, Pro starts at $37/month with 20,000 credits a month. Credits are $0.005 each, and there's an 8% orchestration fee on top. Enterprise is custom.
Watch-outs: Gumloop's examples are about internal work like research, CRM updates, SEO and reporting. We couldn't confirm a built-in customer-facing chat widget or WhatsApp/SMS deployment. Billing is credit-based, so heavy model use costs more.
Zapier Agents
Zapier has the biggest automation footprint of the lot, with 9,000+ apps. It has added Agents, Chatbots, Canvas and Zapier MCP on top. If your processes already run on Zaps, adding agents is a small step.
Pricing: Agents is a separate add-on billed in "activities". Each trigger, action, knowledge lookup or web search counts as one. The free tier gives you 400 activities a month, and Agents Pro starts at around $33/month (annual) for 1,500. Zaps are billed separately by task, with Zaps Professional from $19.99/month. Chatbots is another separate add-on.
Watch-outs: a full setup can mean paying on three meters at once: tasks, agent activities and chatbots. Paying monthly costs about 50% more than paying annually. For app-to-app automation it's very strong. Customer-facing channels beyond Zapier Chatbots depend on what you wire up yourself.
n8n
n8n is where a lot of technical teams end up. You get a capable visual workflow editor with an AI Agent node, an MCP client and server, code steps in JS or Python, Git version control and a free self-hosted Community Edition. Cloud plans include every integration and unlimited users and workflows. They bill per full workflow execution, not per step.
Pricing: Starter is €20/month and Pro €50/month, both billed annually. Business is €667/month (annual) and Enterprise is custom. Self-hosting is free, but you run the infrastructure.
Watch-outs: it's very flexible and assumes some technical comfort. Hosted and embedded chat are included. Channels like WhatsApp or voice you assemble yourself from nodes; there's no switch to flip. Hosted data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt).
Relevance AI
Relevance AI is about building an "AI workforce", meaning several agents and tools working together on processes like sales development and research. Pro includes scheduled tasks, Slack and email escalations, and premium triggers for WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Telegram. Team adds calling and meeting agents, A/B testing and analytics.
Pricing: Relevance retired its Free plan in 2026, so you start on Pro. Pro is $19/month annual or $29 monthly, with 2,500 Actions and 10,000 Vendor Credits. Team is $234/month annual or $349 monthly. There are two meters. Actions cover what the agents do. Vendor Credits cover model costs, which are passed through with no markup and roll over while you stay subscribed. Extra Actions cost $80 per 1,000.
Watch-outs: going over your Actions allowance gets expensive, so work out your volumes first. We couldn't confirm native MCP support at the time of writing (unconfirmed).
Voiceflow
Voiceflow is built for customer experience teams shipping production chat and voice agents. It mixes agentic playbooks with deterministic workflows. It also has observability (LLM-powered evaluations), environments (dev → staging → production), team roles and model choice, including bring-your-own-model.
Pricing: agencies get a free trial with usage-based billing. Businesses have to book a demo to get a price.
Watch-outs: Voiceflow is a specialist CX tool, not a general ops automation platform. We couldn't confirm the full channel list, connector count or MCP support from its public pages (unconfirmed), and with no public business price it's hard to budget for.
Our recommendations
Pick Mazaal if:
- You want one agent on several channels (say website chat, WhatsApp, email and Slack) without rebuilding it for each one.
- You want agents and visual workflows in the same tool. Some products bolt an agent feature onto a separate automation product; Mazaal doesn't.
- You want a predictable monthly price that bundles model usage, automation usage and a large knowledge base. Plans start at $19 and go up to $429 for 25 users.
- You want to switch AI models for each step without migrating anything (model choice is on paid plans).
Pick one of the others if:
- Lindy: you mostly want a personal AI assistant for each team member, covering inbox, meetings and Slack, and per-seat pricing suits you.
- Gumloop: you care most about internal agents for data, research and CRM work across a larger company, with VPC and IT governance.
- Zapier Agents: your business already runs on hundreds of Zaps and you'd rather add agents than move anything.
- n8n: you have developers, you want self-hosting or EU data residency, or you need code-level control.
- Relevance AI: you're designing multi-agent sales or research processes and like pass-through model pricing.
- Voiceflow: you're an enterprise CX team running high-volume chat and voice support with formal environments and evaluations.
None of these tools is best at everything. To choose, take one real process (an inbound lead, an invoice question, a refund request) and spend a week building it in two or three of them.
